Hard-Plastic Tube/Cylinder
« on: January 31, 2009, 06:19:37 PM »
Hey Folks,

I need a custom cut or made tube/cylinder made out of hard plastic.  I need it to be about 10-15 inches in height, and about an inch in diameter. Does anyone know where I can go to get it custom cut? Or even where I can go to buy the parts, and the best way to cut it myself?  Im in Toronto.

Thanks.

pluming fittings from a DIY store?

unfortunately i think 1 inch plastic pipe is usually flexible but
waste pipe comes in in 1.25 inch diameter, is rigid and is easily cut to length with a saw.

dunk.

Hi,

Electricians Pipe (PVC) comes in 1" size and is relatively cheap - or ask an electrician if you can hawe the short piece you need, it's offcuts/rubbish to them.

Søren

A rather fast and fairly heavy robot with quite large wheels needs what? A lot of power?

go to McMaster.com, select the diameter and material and thickness, and choose approximate length.

Then spend 5 minutes on it with a hacksaw to be the exact length you want it. ;D
