Title: Free high-end Board for Robots
Post by: KeithBR on May 06, 2013, 09:21:08 AM
Hi all,

Wanted to let you know about the following opportunity to get a free dual-core Nvidia Tegra board. This is very nice hardware for robotics projects. You just have to register your project idea. Also they have a competition.

www.challenge.toradex.com (http://www.challenge.toradex.com)

Cheers,
Keith

I went to that site, and found an important limitation: It's only open to students and enthusiasts affiliated with an educational institution.

it's not for companies / commercial. But for everyone else it shouldnt be that hard to state a relation to education or research.

I disagree. I do robotics as a hobby. I work at a company. I do not go to school anywhere, and haven't done so for over twenty years. Given that they want a photocopy of an educational ID, how are you suggesting I would state a relation to an educational institution? (Their rules say nothing about "research" outside the context of education.)
