contest deadline extended
« on: February 24, 2008, 04:21:36 PM »
I'm extending the contest deadline to the 29th.

Two reasons:
1) Too many of you are last minute finishers ;)
2) I can't seem to get the darn youtube videos working on the tutorials

All other dates will remain the same.

2) I can't seem to get the darn youtube videos working on the tutorials

before this site crashed I was able to display a Youtube video

the HTML code for it is the following

Code: [Select]
<object height="217" width="330">
<param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/xUNLYqbk9Fw" />
<param name="wmode" value="transparent" />

<embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/xUNLYqbk9Fw" wmode="transparent" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" height="217" width="330"></embed>
</object>
</div>

Perhaps that would help?

Yes, I am a last minute finisher, and this time I wont even be in time at all. I might even have a hard time finishing before the school deadline fir this project.

But, by entering this contest I made a promise to make a tutorial. And there will be, as soon as the robot is finished. So don't worry, you will be able to know how i built my hexapod.
Current project: Pirrh - Portable Intelligent Round Rolling Hexapod

That's just an announcement for my tutorial... I had problems with my main board... I'm having two processors on it so parallel programming can be very hard plus I had some problems with my IR_pair.... So please be patient...
I'll have it ready by Monday I hope....

Cheers!!!

BTW Schematics coming next!!!

Since my doughter is at her grand mother, I have time to work on my robot. I allready modifyed 2 Futaba S2004 servos to respond better to variable speed and it works nicely. Now I'm working on the PID and motion controll and I hope I can get it running in the next few days. Unfortunately I will be away this weekend so maybe it will not be complete, but I hope I will have basic movement done.

Future plans: I want to make a map of the room with some target spots that I can ordewr the robot to go to (using a TV remote or the computer, through Bluetooth). In the future I hope I can get a voice recognition kit to allow me to verbaly tell it where to go and what to do. I can do test how this is working by having the computer do the voice recognition and send commands through Bluetooth. Eh, lots of work, little time to do it... With my little doughter around wanting to touch everything I hold, believe me, it's not easy.
