Title: transform sine wave into square

I wonder if I can transform a sine wave signal into square with this circuit

Yes, IF the sine wave amplitude is large enough to pass as a logic level signal after the voltage drop of the diode and the OR gate is not CMOS.

And even so, it won't have a symmetric (50/50) output.

What is it for?

I have a wheel encoder with sine wave like output ,I want to make it square to treat information with a microcontroller

What are the voltage levels of this 'sine' wave?
What is the maximum frequency?
