Title: ooPic R and L297/L298 for Stepper
Post by: vivek9856 on March 03, 2009, 08:37:26 PM
I am using an ooPic R to control a L297 which drives an L298 which drives a stepper motor. I'm trying to figure out how to get the correct clock signal out of the ooPic.

First off, I would need to use the oFreq object to generate a clock signal for the L297, correct? Or does the L297 use PWM on the clock line?

Secondly, I would need to use the oFreqH object on the Pic to get a high enough frequency to drive the L297. However, a speaker is connected to Line 21 on the R board. How can I remove the speaker and connect an I/O pin? I tried removing the solder on the back of the speaker and pulling, but it didn't move. Is it glued down?

This sounds incredibly overcomplicated . . . is there a reason you didn't buy a $15 stepper motor driver?
