we were planning on installing an accelerometer on our head mounted display so that it will measure the head orientation, the data read would be transferred to a bot with a camera and consequently, the camera would follow the head's movement.. is the accelerometer capable of doing this? or do i need to add another sensor? it's more like a pan/tilt motor which mimics the head's motion, to be used in telepresence...

Maybe they have de-classified information somewhere.
A triple axis accelerometer might be what you need.
