Trying to make the 50$ robot, but it takes for ever to get the parts from sparkfun. I ordered from sparkfun and digi-key at the same time, got the parts from digi-key a week ago. Hope to get the stuff early this week.

Looking forward to see what people are doing :)

Robo-Magellan style robot. Mostly studying algorithms for path-finding and object avoidance. Little bit of study on localization.

Sparkfun has twice lost my orders. Send them an email after a week or two if you think something is wrong - their customer service has been really nice and fixed the problem for me both times asap.

robots Im working on? hmmmm . . .
robot fish
mapping robot (trying to improve it)
experimental robot platform - trying to get it to play fetch, have emotions, camera vision, robot arm, etc
carpet monkey - has a unique method of locomotion, sorta like legs and wheels combined

I never learn to build only one at a time, its my weakness to multitask too much . . .

Doesn't sound like that big of a weakness to me...

I'm working on a treaded robot. It's going to be my base for future projects to.

It causes a lack of focus. If you have three robots, you can only spend 1/3rd your time on each. Takes 3x longer to get stuff done, etc.

There is an advantage however when two robots share the same technology/parts/programming . . .

its coming along . . . i hope to have it swimming about before the end of this year . . . its much harder when you need to do real science and truely understand/optimize your robot, and not just make something that 'just works' . . .
