Are there any demos that do not use the webbotlib library?

Yes, there are a number in the tutorial section of this site, and lots of other sites on the net. What are you wanting to do?

Just looking for some simple demos to test my toolchain on my mac with.  http://www.societyofrobots.com/axon2/ (http://www.societyofrobots.com/axon2/) just linked to webbot demos so I thought I would ask. I guess to start simply blinking the . on the axonII display would be simple enough.
