Here's some information about internship opportunities at RE2 (R-E-Squared):
RE2 is recruiting for new hires and interns. Attached is a job description for the EE/ECE internship/Co-op we are looking to fill. Anybody interested should send a cover letter and resume to [email protected].
Some of our projects are military and civilian, including Unmanned Ground Vehicles, Robotic Nursing Assistants, and Next-Generation Robotic Manipulators. We do cool stuff so pass on the word!
We are looking for EE/ECE interns to work this semester and during the summer. This summer we may have internship positions for MechE and CS disciplines as well.
Education
•
Second year or above, majoring in a related field
•
Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
Job Description
The EE/CE internship will allow students in related fields the opportunity to work alongside our
EE team on numerous military and civilian projects including Unmanned Ground Vehicles,
Robotic Nursing Assistants, and Next-Generation Robotic Manipulators. This internship will be
tailored to the student's individual strengths and interests with potential tasks including:
Schematic Capture/PCB Layout, Firmware Development, Control System Design, Labview
Development, and Prototype Assembly and Wiring. Internship candidates should be extremely
self-motivated and capable of working in a fast-paced, multi-tasking team environment.
Internship is a part-time or full-time, paid position, minimum of 16 hours/week, lasting between
3 and 6 months.
Required Skills and Experience

Programming background
•
Circuit design experience
•
Working knowledge of hardware/system debugging using common test equipment
•
US citizenship
Desired Skills and Experience
•
Layout experience
•
Labview
•
Database programming
•
Knowledge of C programming
•
Embedded systems design, including software design and coding
•
Experience with Altium or equivalent PCB design software
•
Experience writing software in a Linux-based environment
•
Knowledge of motors, motor drive electronics and control system design
•
Cabling, crimping, and wire routing skillset

This is exactly what I am looking for. What a great way to get a foot in the door in the industry! If (and that's a big IF, but we can dream big, right?) all goes well, I will be attending CMU next year as a transfer student, and this internship happens to be right in Pittsburgh. I've just sent off my resume. I couldn't be happier right now. :D
