Problem installing AVR Studio!
« on: September 16, 2012, 03:20:00 PM »
Hello,

I'm going through the "GETTING STARTED - Installing Software" section on SoR and I'm having a problem with "STEP 2: Install AVR Studio."

After downloading avrstudio4setup.exe, I double click on it and a command prompt flashes and that's it.

I don't get any new icons on my desktop and no notification that anything got installed.

I'm running Windows XP, Version 2002, SP3.

Any ideas what my problem might be?

Thanks,
Tony

I solved my problem.

I was using Google Chrome to download and run the installer. However, Atmel Technical Support says the following...

1. In general, please run Windows Update and make sure you have the latest Internet Explorer (AVR Studio uses libraries distributed with Internet Explorer).
