Ahhh, so you've gotten them drivers built, eh?

Looks really great! I wonder how that'd look on a butler robot...

Is it built to interface with a microcontroller? If so, I'm quite interested in seeing an example  ;D

It is hooked up to a microcontroller, the bottom board is the $50 robot board. The top board is the driver cicruit which is just a 7441 chip (second chip on this page:   http://www.datasheetarchive.com/pdf-datasheets/Databooks-5/Document24240.pdf) Right now i have a program that cicles it through all 10 digits.

After reading this post, I had no idea what a Nixie Tube was. So I googled it and also came across a picture of a "Nixie" watch as worn by Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple, Inc.

You can use a transformer to get a low voltage, high current in to a high voltage low current.

You can get nixie tubes on ebay or if you search on google you can find a couple of online stores that sell them. I got my nixie tube free from a robotics meeting.
