Title: Kinky... Wanna Watch?
Post by: Soeren on August 30, 2010, 06:13:20 PM
Hi,

Here's the link:
The ultimate geek p0rn (http://focus.ti.com/docs/toolsw/folders/print/ez430-chronos.html?DCMP=Chronos&HQS=Other+OT+chronos)

And before John boils over, I rush with some eye candy...

Isn't she sweet... She's gonna hang around my arm soon and we'll have some very hot sessions, probably bringing my pulse to the max (no, not the flat chested runner, the one on the left of course)  ;D

Use coupon code halfoffmsptool to get it for... Half off!!  Only 25 bucks. Note that the code is once per customer.

I snagged one and it is pretty cool. Comes with nice default programs, including one that works as an accelerometer mouse for your pc  ;D

Tried the coupon code and got this "The coupon code you entered is invalid."  :(
This was for the 433MHz version, from the TI store.

How and where did you get the rebate?

I saw this in February, but really wasn't sure what it can do that a smart phone couldn't . . .

Ideally I'd like it to control a robot using hand gestures and stuff, but it doesn't look like thats possible without a PC in the loop . . .

TI offers separate receivers that are microcontroller freindly, but they are kind of costly (I think another $20? I forget). But I know there definitely are receivers that are simple to hook up to microcontrollers.

I just spoke with my friend who told me about them last February . . . he never ended up buying them because they were always sold out.

After reminding him, he just bought one of both frequencies.

I'll forward his thoughts when he's done reviewing them.

Here's someone's project that uses the watch. It's and bedside alarm clock that wireless syncs with the Chronos for time and alarm.
