Title: Bioloid Robot - ideas?
Post by: klims on March 19, 2009, 05:05:25 AM
Hey guys,

I'm in my final year of a double degree in Robotics/Computer Science. In Australia we are required to complete a 'Final Year Project'.

So my university has give our group (7 students) the funding to purchase a Bioloid Expert Kit. It looks incredible!

They are expecting us to do amazing things with it.

I was hoping to get some serious ideas about what is feasible to get this robot doing within the time frame.
Although its a final year project the year really turns into about 9 months max considering when the year starts and ends.

So far the list of objectives we have is:

walk autonomously
walk via user joystick control
object detection and tracking (we want to chase a ball)
object avoidance by vision

Are there any cool user interactive things you guys can think of that you would like to see this robot do?
We need to present this thing at our University open day so some gimmicky tricks aren't necessarily a bad thing...

Andrew.

Wow I would really like to see someone mod a bioloid into a mech style robot, and maybe get two of them and rig up a laser tag style setup between the two.
