i thought i may as well start a topic as everyone else has.
i have attached an image of my one sided L298 dual motor driver module.
please tell me if you can see any faults with the design as i will start etching relatively soon.
if you have any questions about the board feel free to ask.

Hi,

The less 90° and sharper bends you use, the better (better avoid them alltogether).

Don't make all the strange bends and turns where you can draw a straight line and use wider paths for the motor current where possible.

Your layout contains "blobs" of wider path in between, in places where it just looks odd.
No reason to use narrow tracks where you have room for more - just poses a risk of being etched through.

If you need to use jumpers, it's better to make them straight lines with pads.

If you post the schematic, I'll push it through Eagle to show you my points if you like.
Regards,
Søren

A rather fast and fairly heavy robot with quite large wheels needs what? A lot of power?
Please remember...
Engineering is based on numbers - not adjectives

I'm definitely not an expert, but I don't see any immediate problems.
