It seems the exoskeleton has become big lately . . . Lockheed Martin shows of their new suit, the HULC. Details are a bit sparse, but it appears to allow a soldier to carry 50+ pounds more gear then before.
The batteries allow for 3mph walking for one hour . . . not much, but getting better . . . What I really like is that its very unobtrusive, simple, and portable.

Does anybody know if they are being used in combat yet?
-
i wouldnt think so. if they are still in testing?
-
what exactly does this thing do.. ?
-
its like a suit that you get in and it detects how you move and moves with you so you have "super human" strength sort of thing.

All of a soldier's normal gear plus 50 pounds of armor, 7mph long duration and 10mph sprint.... sounds like we are seriously on the way to powered battle dress.
I like the load attachment for extra carrying capacity.
It looks like the weak point is in the size adjustments, but it's just a prototype now.

Should have a ton of phycological impact, too. Imagine a squad of mech-soldiers running towards you :o
