control USB devices from your microcontroller
« on: June 27, 2009, 05:43:19 PM »
I was browsing around and found a USB host controller IC:

Before you could only get slave USB IC's - still requiring a PC to act as the host. No longer!

I've been looking fro something like this for a LONG time. I hope to use on of these (or similar) in an upcoming project of mine, The DreamDock MP3 dock.

It will be used to read music files from a memory stick, and then they will be played back through speakers built into the dock. The whole thing will be controlled by some touch-screen interface with custom OS.

Thanks for finding this!
