Title: $50 Robot extra IO
Post by: totalis on June 24, 2010, 04:39:31 AM
I have just finished building the $50 robot,
having looked at the datasheet for the atmega168, it shows that alot of the unused pins can be used for IO, i can understand that some of the of the pins should be left unused for future upgrades, ie XTAL.

Has anyone used the extra pins for IO? if so, how do i change the board and the setup code?

Many thanks

T

There are many tutorials on how to modify the 50$ robot using IR rangefinder , Sonar and others that use extra IO

Modifying the circuit to include those extra pins is as easy as adding the headers for them. If want to easily add servo's and sensors you can expand the power busses as well.
