Using ports PB6 and PB7 on atmega168
« on: December 21, 2008, 09:27:04 PM »
PB6(PCINT6 / XTAL1 / TOSC1)
PB7(PCINT7 / XTAL2 / TOSC2)

Just wondering if those two can be used as "normal" ports (turning on and off). In eagle those two are separated from the rest so I was iffy about using them to control LEDs. Thanks!

Yes, you can. The only thing is you need to set your clock as internal resonator, 1MHz up to 8MHz. If you need more clock frequency, these pins are used to connect the crystal.
