Title: What are you currently working on?
Post by: awally88 on June 24, 2009, 01:57:46 AM
Hey everyone,

I was just curious to what projects everyone is working on at the moment and what they have planned for the future.

I'm currently working on a robotic pong table controlled by wii nunchucks. I'm also hacking a remote controlled car to drift around corners in my house.

I'm also planning on hacking a remote control tank tank to chase my housemates around and shoot foam darts at them, but that's when I can afford a good camera for tracking!

i am working on a robot for a competition, it will end up a multi task cleaning bot as that is the area we have to focus on, cleaning ;D

I am working on my $50 dollar robot.  I think that I am going to modify it somewhat to be a fire extinguishing bot.  I also got my hands on a micrologix 1000 plc and I am trying to figure out how I can use that with the huffman box to create some sort of lock for the box that when deenergized will lock and that you have to use a secret code to enter the box when it is plugged in.  I fugure that I will need to use solenoids that will retract a plunger when energized and that will be the lock.  Spring loaded so when there is no power, the plunger is still actuated.  I have been collecting samples from the samples list and I have a whole bunch of I don't know what I am going to do with this stuff that will probably keep me busy until I get done with my BS in CS ;)

Im working on ARA-1, my robotic arm that can find stuff by itself and pick them up. I have also been playing around with accelerometers and have built many things with it, including a wii like remote to control my experimental robot.

After I finish ARA-1, I will start designing and building a humanoid.

Im working on a water robot that is  like a canoe but uses servos to pull small water ski type things that have half cups underneath so that it pulls, but wouldnt drag it back when it went forward. The steering would be a rudder attached to a servo.

I'm working on a tachometer for my Civic.... With a nice RED swift light.....

But I also work on a robotic gripper - arm..... that will take a while.....

Also I'm gonna do some some encoder coding since I finally figured out how to do parallel coding.... :-P

And I've also got to study for uni....... F@$k.... I forgot it.......

And parallel to all these.... Here is SUMMER time..... I just think I'm gonna hit some beaches.... :-P

I'm currently working on a microcontroller board for the atmega640/1280/2560.  The prototype is in the mail ;D.  I've also got a line follower on the back burner that uses multiple PID controllers.  One for rpm control and the other for determining the the correct response to follow the line via an array of reflective sensors.

I'm working on a quadruped for school/personal enjoyment. Mechanically/electronically it's all built but I just started having battery issues and possibly an Axon problem but I want to get the battery issue sorted and finish trolling the forum before I post a question :( I have less than a month to finish it.

Currently it stands at 2 ft 9 inches.
