Ok my apologies if this has been answered before ( I did search to no avail).
I'm new to the whole robot scene. Well not really. I have build robots using the Vex Robotic System but nothing where I had to do all the electronics from scratch.
Anywayz,
So, I was wondering if the AVR STK Serial Port Dongle Programmer that is "required" for the $50 Robot Project can be substituted with a custom made Parallel Port Programmer... based on this tutorial:
http://www.arduino.cc/en/Hacking/ParallelProgrammer (http://www.arduino.cc/en/Hacking/ParallelProgrammer)
Will this work okay in building the $50 Robot?
The custom parallel port cable does not seem very difficult for me but in terms of electronic compatibility with the MicroP chip. Will it work? -)
Thanks!
