Yes you can - it's AVRStudio compatible.
Oh, didnt know it was that complicated. The MKII is probably the easiest way, just how airman explained it.

The cheaper ones (relatively speaking, AVR ATMEGA STK500 USB Programmer ISP), it does not support the ATMega8.
Does it work with the AtMega8?
And does it support both 10 pin and 6pin?
