I found this schematic for a speech recognition kit online which sells for 80 bucks
(http://www.imagesco.com/speech/SR1.GIF)
If I make a PCB using that schematic can I just etch it out myself ( is there any legal issue)
And would I end up saving money rather than buying it?

what abour programming? do you have the source code or is everything hardware done?
-
I believe its just hardware , the actual interface circuit( not pictured) to the speech recognition needs a PIC ,but source code is online

unless they patented it, nope, no problem.
and if you didn't sell it, they wouldn't even care if you copied it . . .

well . . . time is money . . . and the one you make might not be as reliable
you might also want to look up if that HM 2007 chip needs to be programmed or not . . .

yeah. i can't see them caring if u copied it seeing as how they gave you the schematic ! ;D !
