Got ya!
Don't have any in-progress pics... :( Worked to slowly to thought making pictures...
Those aren't headlights :)) , but it's a nice idea of which I'll think about :). Those are the photoresistors :D I've put them in the heads of 2 flash lights I dessambled. The case's walls are made of 3mm thick plastic plate. The front wheel is manualy made (the system of the supermarket carriage's front wheels.
Thank you for the "pro" qualifying. :D Trying to be...

Thank you! :D
Yes. It cost me even less than that (the robot itself), but I spent some extra-money on something that is not in those 50$, like the Universal AVR Programmer (25$).
-
oh that make sense. did you have that chasis custom made. you probably have a friend that can do that stuff right? or i guess you could probably do it too. i am really amazed at how good it looks. i didn't catch was this your first robot? do you have a video yet? ok i'll stop asking questions. good job once again!

Impressive :)

How did you get the edges rounded off like that? They make it look so clean and .. just...well awesome! You should really make an in depth tutorial for I dunno the tutorial contest.
Once again great job i just cant get over how great it looks.
OMG it looks cool!

Thanks very much for you opinions and apreciation. And YES, it is my first robot (design> the base of this design is still Admin's John).

Bravo Razvan!!!
I looks awsome! I didn't cach this topic right away, but now I'm glad to see it. I'm proud to see another romanian building such a nice robot! Way to go!

Thats freakin awsome... :o
Me to thought it was 2 headlights there..:P
But when i looked closer i could see the photoresistors.
And YEAH! you should really use that robot in the upcoming contest. But if you dont have any "in progress" pictures it might be a little hard (If the admin requires it)
Any how, im thinking of making a RC walking robot..:D I just saw a movie on this page and it gave me a idea of a hand looking gripper.
-
:o If this is yours first robot then how will look third? ;)
-
the chasi resembles stampy
-
wow, what a beaut.
Great job, makes mine look like a heap!! :)

I got $18 servos triple or quadruple of everything for the microcontroller ( the extra Atmega8s really came in handy) I bought a $12 scanning servo an IR rangfinder usb to serial that doesn't work with pony prog and a set of standoffs. ;D
-
Admin I think u should put in your tutorial that some usb to serial adapters don't work! ;)
-
I wrote in it that it was a theory we had . . . but I guess enough of you have had the same problem that I will post something like:
"ponyprog does not work with USB adaptors"
