Title: best 3D robot simulator
Post by: animaniac on August 30, 2010, 01:00:09 PM
hi, I tried using webots to build a virtual robot, but the interface is awful and the modeling and assembly tools are even worse (I lost all interest when I saw the rotation parameters were written in radian). do you know another software, easy to use with a better interface, allowing precise assembly? thanks.

Hello,

have you tried V-REP? ( www.v-rep.eu (http://www.v-rep.eu) )
It has much more calculation modules (full inverse/forward kinematics, path planning, image processing, minimum distances calculation, 2 physics engines, scripting, custom user interfaces with edit mode, etc.). The interface allows also much easier editing (e.g. several shape edit modes, transformation dialogs, intuitive scene hierarchy, model browser with drag-n-drop, undo/redo, infinite view configurations, etc.)

Cheers
