Title: laser security

how would i go about building a laser security system were...
when a laser is broken it sets off a alarm once it is no longer broken the alarm will stay
on for a few seconds.

i under stand basic electroncis have done a few things with lights and i thinkthis would be good for learning

i think i would use somthing like a..
laser
photoresistor
alarm
but then again i dont really know to much\
please post a detailed step by step guide on making the above
(please no posts of videos that i wont get like. the kip kay and howcast vids
