Even harder to find :P
« on: April 24, 2010, 07:57:53 AM »
I'm having real problems finding connectors of the kind used on the Axon's header pins (0.1" spacing). Been looking for 3 weeks. I live in Romania. Does anyone know where to buy some of them in eastern europe? Or an online store somewhere in europe?
Thanks.

Hi,

Just get female headers that you cut to length and use heat shrink over each pin/wire connection and one piece over all 3 wires and a part of the header.
Regards,
Søren

A rather fast and fairly heavy robot with quite large wheels needs what? A lot of power?
Please remember...

You know... that's not a bad idea... I remember seeing female headers in stores, but i don't remember any that cut to length, like male headers. I'll keep an eye out for them, but if anyone has a link to a site that sells them, i'd appreciate it.

Thanks, Soeren ;D

you can cut them, even if you're not supposed to. You will "lose" a pin in the process though.

or go to www.futurlec.com

One more question. Can anyone tell me if the first crimper on http://www.futurlec.com/Tools-Crimping.shtml will work with the connectors i was talking about? I managed to find a close up http://www.lemona.lt/LIUSE/Images/HT202B.JPG. Thanks.

I have exactly that crimper and it works with those HDPINF connectors that go into the HDCONNS3 female headers that you were searching for.
Check out the uBotino robot controller!

What is that thing? I can't make it out.
Also, Digikey is US based, right?

it's a plug very similar to the ones on servos.
it's a standard Tyco part so should be available from a supplier near you.

http://ro.rsdelivers.com appear to have them although RS are often not the cheapest.

Digikey is a US company but operate out of many different countries.
Romania is not one of them i'm afraid so you would be stuck with international shipping.
