accelerometer hmd orientation
« on: January 03, 2010, 09:45:11 PM »
we were planning on installing an accelerometer on our head mounted display so that it will measure the head orientation, the data read would be transferred to a bot with a camera and consequently, the camera would follow the head's movement.. is the accelerometer capable of doing this? or do i need to add another sensor? it's more like a pan/tilt motor which mimics the head's motion, to be used in telepresence...

Like the gatling gun of the AH-1 Cobra (or is it the AH-64D Apache?)!
Maybe they have de-classified information somewhere.

A triple axis accelerometer might be what you need.
