Need help with picking a university course!
« on: August 14, 2014, 01:14:49 PM »
Hello guys.  :)
I'm applying to universities this year and I want to study robotics. Since this forum is all about robots I thought it's the best to ask people here because they have got the knowledge of robots and will point me to the best university courses.

In more detail, I'm interested in creating robots and research. From the parts of a robot to the programming. Basically I like to see my self as a inventor.

I have prepared a list of the courses. could you guys list top 5 in order of the best to the least best. Top 5 because I'm only allowed to apply to 5 universities through a website called UCAS. Judge by quality of the course and not the university!  :)

Here are the links to the courses:
http://www.kcl.ac.uk/prospectus/undergraduate/programmes/alpha/PQR/keyword/robotics = king's college

http://www.mdx.ac.uk/courses/undergraduate/design-engineering-robotics = middlesex uni

http://courses.aber.ac.uk/undergraduate/artificial-intelligence-robotics-degree-work-experience/ = aberysywth uni

http://courses.aber.ac.uk/undergraduate/astrophysics-masters-degree/ = aberysywth (also came up when i typed in robotics)

http://www.beds.ac.uk/howtoapply/courses/undergraduate/next-year/artificial-intelligence-and-robotics#tab-6 = uni of bedfordshire

/www.reading.ac.uk/Study/ug/RoboticsMEng.aspx = uni of reading

http://www.reading.ac.uk/Study/ug/RoboticsBSc.aspx = uni of reading

http://www.reading.ac.uk/Study/ug/RoboticsIndustryBSc.aspx = uni of reading (BSC Robotics (1 industrial year)  AAC/ABB)

Thank you very much for going through the effort of reading through all the courses, I appreciate it.   :D

Hi!
I don't know much about the other courses you listed, but I also am planning on applying to robotics programs. I found one that I really like at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). They have an undergraduate program that allows you to get a b.s and m.s in robotics engineering in five years.  Thought you might be interested.
Good luck in your search! :)
