You could but the battery life would slowly go down after each charge. The lowest amp rating the smart charger can charge at is 0.9 amps, and thats pushing the limit of how many amps you should charge a little 280mah battery. I would be more comfortable around .5 or .6 amps, but since those are only $1 each, it wont be too hard to replace when they die.

Thanks for the reply
I'm gonna look for a smart charger that can does .5 amps like you said

If you want to make up your own battery pack, I would buy the tabbed batteries. You just solder the tabs together, solder on leads, and shrink wrap the pack. If you try to solder on the end caps of a non-tabbed battery, you can easily damage it from the heat.

I got this charger some days before...
Just PERFECT... You can charge everything... except Sealed Acid Batteries... but no big worry here...
You can customize charging current and you don't have to worry about hooking anything wrong...
Plus, you can hook it up to your car's battery and start charging...
Good hunting, again....

Eeehhh.... you are not lucky today...
Anyways...
It's the ULTRAMAT 14 from Graupner...
It's working from 100V - 240V AC or as I said before with 12V battery DC as the one in your car...
