Need Underside View of X-Bee

I am thinking of making my own long range RF link and just want to see how "complicated" a similar RF link , the X-Bee , is .
The only view I can see is from here :

I want to see the other side of it , just to get a look at how complex the circuitry is.
If someone has a schematic for the X-Bee that would be even better.

A side note :
I found a picture of a Parallax RF receiver

Looks very simple - seems as if the big black chip in the middle is doing all the hard work. So what I have to do is find a chip that supports my range and then build a simple circuit to support it? Is it as easy as finding the right transmitter/receiver chip?

The underside of the XBee is just a big silver square, you can see part of it from the back. If you need the breakout look at datasheets, or at xbee adapters people have built

I'm curious...
What kind of range are you planning on achieving.  Some XBee models get 25 miles LOS with a high-gain antenna.  If you can better that, call Digi.  I'm sure they'll hire you.  If not, why not just buy an XBee.

25 miles range is probably directional, my application needs omnidirectional.
Anyways I don't need an Xbee at all  I found my solution - http://www.societyofrobots.com/robotforum/index.php?topic=6301.msg49162#msg49162 . I don't want to buy an Xbee because this is for a manufactured product (Xbee is pretty expensive), so I would make my own PCBs.
