AVR Studio setup for AxonII
« on: March 25, 2010, 07:11:49 PM »
I got an AxonII in the mail today and I am trying to get AVR Studio setup with WebbotLib. I downloaded the latest versions of WinAVR, AVR Studio, and WebbotLib. I am using Windows7 64bit but the problem I have run into is the same on XP and Linux. When I get to the part of the instructions where the libraries are declared in AVR Studio there is no libc.a or libm.a listed. I looked in the directory where the WebbotLib files were extracted to and the only *.a files present are:

libWebbot-ATMega8.a
libWebbot-ATMega32.a
libWebbot-ATMega168.a
libWebbot-ATMega328.a
libWebbot-ATMega640.a
libWebbot-ATMega1280.a
libWebbot-ATMega2560.a
libWebbot-ATMega2561.a

I downloaded Webbotlib 1.16 to a XP machine and a Linux machine just to see if Win7 was somehow eating the files, but they were not present there either. I then downloaded the previous version, 1.15b, and the files were not there as well.

I searched this forum for posts mentioning libc.a and libm.a and did not find any pertinent information. I looked at the News page on the Webbotlib site and didn't find anything about the files being removed. I looked through the FAQ and tutorial for the AxonII but they all indicate that files are needed.

So are the robot gods playing a trick on me or is there a reason the files are not there? Can I get it to work without those files?

Thanks in advanced for any help on this.

libc.a and libm.a are a part of WinAVR - nothing to do with WebbotLib

Your problem suggests that AVRStudio is not aware of your WinAVR installation. The most likely cause is that when you installed WinAVR you didn't have Admin rights and/or the PATH variable didn't get updated.
