Axon or Axon II?
« on: October 06, 2012, 08:42:46 PM »
I'm new robot builder, and am in the process of purchasing parts that I will most likely use in a future robot I plan to design, and I wish to play with these as part of my learning process.  For a beginner robot builder who plans on becoming a self-taught expert, what are the advantages of buying the Axon II over the original Axon?

To me, the two main advantages that I'm aware of are (1) more flexible voltage range for powering it, and (2) 7-seg LED for easier debugging. (I only own the original Axon)

That said, an expert will probably end up playing with various boards over time, so this decision isn't super crucial, in my opinion.

The Axon II has more PWM pins (good for motors and servos), better power distribution and multiple power source options, and of course the 7 segment display.
