Title: 3d scanning robot [ASK??]
Post by: bbraditya on April 09, 2010, 04:06:19 AM
I'm thinking of making a 3D SCANNING ROBOT.
I thought of making the ERP robot but the components are expensive (I live in Indonesia so the currency is waaaaay different) but I can still follow till the arduino.
I plan to make the robot scan images and send it to the computer.
In the computer there will be a GUI to show the results.
I'm going to use the arduino duemilanove, so to send to the computer I will use the xbee shield.
The robot uses an ultrasonic sensor and a webcam to scan images.
There will be 2 servo motors to tilt and pan the webcam and sensor.
I already have a frame with 4 micro-speed motor.

My main problem is PROGRAMMING.
I don't know what program to use for GUI (MATLAB?)
how to synchronise the ultrasonic sensor and the webcam to make a single 3d image,
and I would also like everyones opinion on this project.
