Hi there :)
I'm wondering if someone here built an USB PIC programmer for 16F, and can share schematics so I can build one myself.
-
Are you a beginner?
Why not use serial or parallel instead? There are dozens of different schematics on the internet supporting most 16F chips. One of the most common being the TAIT parallel programmer i believe. Here is a link (click Supported Programmers) http://www.ic-prog.com/index1.htm (http://www.ic-prog.com/index1.htm).
USB, i have heard, is much more difficult to build circuits for and for this application it has no advantages i dont think.

Okay.... I'll buy an USB-to-Serial adaptor then :)

Do you really want to spend $30 on a cable

Well, if you have a better option, say it :)

I think he means just buy a serial cable. You will have a serial port on the back of your computer. The serial cable is much less expensive.

If you want a USB-serial cable check eBay, a lot of businesses from Hong Kong post there, I got a cable for around $5!

Hi. i know some interesting websites where i see the schematic for this programmer. I did not try these...
Read this website very weel http://kitsrus.com/pic.html and you will find the kit 150 schematic. (http://kitsrus.com/gif/k150_sch.gif).
This other website is in spanish but is good, you will find the schematic and pcb http://todopic.mforos.com/59905/3558103-gtp-usb-lite/
If you building this programmer please notify me or the forum.
GOOD LUCK FROM CARACAS
