Doe's anyone else here use Dale resisters?
If so where do you buy yours from...

Sorry i meant to post a picture.. thats close i dont use the surface mount circuits. mostly just curious who else use's them, i get mine from a company called Suntron. its an electronics manufacturing company i used to work at.

what is different about them to the carbon film resistors that i use ???

you yourself posted a link to a distributor... you should click around a bit ;)
they cost around $1-$2 each from digikey, so about 20-80x the price of a normal resistor.

yeah there a tad expensive. but i like the look they give a project, also note that you will find them in any high grade electrical equipment such as medical, military, etc.. they have a very professional look. However I'm not saying a project is better then another because they use dale, please don't take it that way. i do prototype with regular 3 and 4 band resistors but my finished boards get the dales. also now that i think of it, iv never blown a dale...

nah, i didn't take it the wrong way.
i can understand why you would want to use dale resistors.
man i wish i could get my hands on ex military stuff...

you should be able to order it from allelectronics.com i have seen them there from time to time. there also cheaper when you find them there. i get most of mine free from suntron. if you want when i get my next batch (in a couple weeks) i could mail a few to you to play with. i only get 5 or 6 at a time but my current project is in a redesign phase. so... your in Australia right?
