Title: Learning Avr Programming
Post by: R.O.B. 2.0 on June 23, 2008, 03:27:40 PM
I am trying to learn C in order to program AVRs.
Basic I know, but I don't know anything about C.

Does anyone know of a good tutorial specifically for programming MCUs for a beginner?

Someone who posts on the Pololu forum (nexisnet) strongly recommends C programming for microcontrollers (http://www.smileymicros.com/) whenever someone asks about a good resource for learning to program in C and/or on microcontrollers.  The focus of the book is on the AVR Butterfly, so you'd be learning AVR programming in C.  This poster really knows his stuff, so I'd put a lot of stock in his recommendation (even though I personally have no experience with this resource).

I'm sure there are quite a few free resources online as well, but I'm not personally familiar with any.
