My humanoid (Work in progress)
« on: March 29, 2009, 10:49:50 AM »
So I got kinda bored making a car robot that everyone does, so I started designing and made up a humanoid, and with that I will be able to keep on adding more and more to it. Below is the CAD so far, please tell me what you think so far.

About the cad

1) The servo on the neck goes into the head (not shown in cad)

I made the head (Going to paint it silver) and added so code to make it turn back and forth with a joystick

Offy Humanoid Head Joystick Test

Watch in LQ+ everything else will say it does not exist any more.

Yes it is made out of a hamster ball, I didn't have anything else that was a ball shape that I could cut into.

It was manual controlled for testing only, I test all the movements with the joystick to see the views it will be able to get. The point of this robot is to do simple tasks such as pick up a ball and etc.

I checked out your site and it got me wondering - is this a balancing robot?  I don't think I've seen a balancing robot using servos before.  If it is, could you post how you are doing it?

Looking forward to more updates

A humanoid is a tall order, is it going to balance on 2 legs? Will it have fingers or a claw?
Honda made a humanoid and it took them 20 yrs!

The definition of humanoid doesn't mean it has to be at the Honda Asimo kind of humanoid level. A humanoid can be a peice of paper cut out to be the shape of a human.
