2 Qs about Voice recognition and ADC ?
« on: October 16, 2007, 03:58:20 PM »
Hi all,

I have two questions: the first one has to do with voice recognition and the second
one has to do with an ADC IC.

1- I'm trying to build a simple robot that can respond to simple commands (2 to 4).
I've searched the web as well as the forum and came across some ICs with Rec. and
playback. However, it seems that these ICs allow you to record a single message for
a certain duration and then to play them back. Well, that's not what I'm looking for. I
just need a simple IC that is easy to interface to a micro and that can hold few words.
I'm using an Atmega chip with CodeVision AVR software. I found a circuit (SRI-03) at :

http://www.imagesco.com/speech/speech-recognition-technology.html

however, I'm not sure if this circuit (SRI-03) will do the job without any other hardware,
or if there is a simpler IC that can do what I'm looking for?

2- About the ADC chip, I have one (10-bit) with a serial output. Is there an IC that can convert
this serial output to a parallel one?

Thanks in advance.

Robo

Thanks,

I'll look into these links although with a quick glance they don't seem to give straight
asnwer to my question. There is a lot of background material which I'm not familiar with.
