:-\ There is a new type of nut. Do you think it will stay on a moving robot?

This design looks WAY to expensive to use in place of common fasteners. There may be some specialized applications for something like this but I think there are simpler and more robust designs. The quill stop nut on a Bridgeport comes to mind.

That looks convenient for those who want to quickly attach and detach objects. Although it doesn't have to be a "nut" at that point -- there are lots of quick-lock fasteners already. It could probably be made cheaply in China :-)
But the size needed makes it hard to use in most use cases -- nuts are generally designed with small clearance pockets and defined-length fasteners, and adding another inch for the quick-disconnect kind-of makes that hard.

I would not call it a replacement for a bolt and nut.  But a "quick mount" system for some part that will be frequently removed and replaced.

But the problem is you need access to the under side.  The better designed can be done all from one side.
