Title: Spring assembly at the Swivel Axis in the Base of Robot.

Hello,

      I am from India and new in robotics field.I am studying a robot of Pay load 30 kg.While studying the Swivel Axis i cam across a Spring Assembly which was mounted in Inner & Outer Rings in the bottom of the robot.Could not understand the basic purpose of this assembly.
Please can anyone put some light on it.
