« on: July 11, 2009, 08:42:03 PM »
I'm starting my research now but was wondering if anyone knows if Line Laser diode exist and can be purchased or if the laser levels just rotate a point really fast? If they do exists does anyone know a supplier for just the diode?

Thanks

Hi,

They do exist, like almost any piece of power tool will confirm - gee, LASER lines seems to be everywhere these days, I even have a pair of scissors with a line.

It's not the diode that makes the line, it's an optic lens (a prism)  added to the collimator that gives either a line or a cross and they can be had on eBay:

A rather fast and fairly heavy robot with quite large wheels needs what? A lot of power?
