What do you recommend for an educated individual in their mid to late twenties ?

I am somewhat new to robotics, but I checked out Robot magazine and that was like for kids...

Servo? Nuts & Volts?

What do you recommend?

Personally, I really liked Nuts and Volts and Servo.  I only view their free online sample, but both magazines had articles that I enjoyed reading.  Nuts and Volts isn't strictly robots, but it still seemed to have a decent amount of robotic content.

I have subscriptions to all three (N&V, Servo, and Robot Magazine)... they are a fun read, but like so many hobby magazines, the articles are usually pretty surfacey and often lack details.  I really wouldn't recommend any others for the simple fact that in the US, there aren't any others!  :D

Not strictly robotics but electronics/robotics.  One is from down under called the Silicon Chip.  Another good one is Circuit Cellar.  Then there is this British mag called Elektor.

All three carry good articles on microcontrollers.

I emailed all three, volunteering to write for them for free, but never a reply back :-[

You should try circuitcellar.  I've heard good things about them.
