Bent Wire Crank Mechanical Toy
« on: March 08, 2012, 04:16:33 PM »
I have to build a purely mechanical crank toy made from wire. I have an idea of what I want to do but I'm having trouble figuring out the mechanics of it.
What I want to build is crank operated folding fan. I am in the midst of designing my template, the image has been scaled to fit in the screen.

These are just the parts I know I need, I know I need more but I don't know what they would look like or how they would interact. The fan blades are supposed to spread out when you turn the crank in one direction and close up when you turn it in the other direction

What about if You built mechanism similar to Japanese sensu?
