Title: Trouble Finding rca Speaker
Post by: Sylvestre on November 04, 2012, 05:20:15 PM
Hello everyone,

I'm having trouble finding a small speaker with an rca connector.  The speaker will be used to output the audio from a microphone.  It has to be fairly small to fit in my controller case.  I'm having trouble finding it on Google because there is a electronics brand with the name of RCA that coincidently sells speakers.  Do you guys have any ideas for search terms or products you've used before?

Thanks

There is a audio amplifier between the mic and speaker, correct?

Why not just solder an RCA connector to the speaker leads.
Radio Shack (USA) and Farnells (UK, EU) have RCA plugs and jacks as well as many other electronic suppliers.

What is it you really need?

I bought this receiver and transmitter http://tinyurl.com/b85fq57 (http://tinyurl.com/b85fq57)

I have a mic that plugs directly into the transmitter.  I was hoping I could find a speaker that could just plug directly into the red rca port.

How big is your "controller case"?

As a hearing aid wearer, I... find that comparison amusing ;)

My controller case is 9 in x 7 in x 2in.  I need the microphone to be fairly small around 1 in x 1 in.

I assume one of these would work if I just soldered on the appropriate connector, right?

Which one is better or is their something I can look for to determine which ones better?

Is the Audio output 8Ohm from the transmitter/receivers you have?
Can it drive a 1 Watt speaker? Check the data sheet specs.
Is answers are yes then the first speaker will work.
