how to know battery status on computer...

i am using lipo 24 v 12 Ah battery for my robot. i want to see voltage and current rating in my comp . simply means i want to send my alll battery data serially to my comp . any body have any idea  ??? that how can we do this... plz help me .....

implement a battery monitor sensor, and then send the data over uart

You can't measure the battery's current rating. You can monitor instant current and sum it at every sample on your computer - to estimate how much juice it's left in your battery.

Reading a battery is a simple voltage divisor problem. The UART, on the other hand, my not be that simple. Check my website for a complete RS232/UART tutorial.
