Power Distribution
« on: February 27, 2015, 09:31:43 PM »
Hi!

I have a Junun Mark III Sumobot with ooPIC controller.
http://www.junun.org/MarkIII/Info.jsp?item=27

It's been a while since I've powered it up and since last time I have got into RC cars/quads muchly.

I hope to power the MarkIII ooPIC with a single LiPo and step down power converters. What I am wondering is if this is likely to be safe/appropriate? Might I end up with some kind of crossover static form the servo motors to the ooPIC or visa-versa?

Thanks for you help.

 :) Hello!
Power convertors can cause noise, But I have not read anything
about the interference with the MCU. In regards to the static from the
motors, that should be taken car of by your motor drivers, if you have any.
If not, you are driving the servos directly from the MCU, I might be concerned.
I would not expect a problem; only isolate the MCU from the motors with
a motor driver. Keep me posted....... :) :) :)
