very cool

Nice robot and I imagine there are a ton of sensors . Its also needs a ton of code . Plus mucho $$$ to pay for the whole thing...

I want to see the bloopers for that  :D :D :D
Check out the Roboduino, Arduino-compatible board!

I saw a video once with the same concept. They were teaching a robot how to play chess by showing him how to physical move the pieces. So instead of playing a computer, people can play an actual robot.
Amy: Spirit! Kif, that's the pony I always wanted but my parents said I had too many ponies already.

Kif: Yes, I programmed it in for you. Four million lines of BASIC!

That robot is going to wake him up one night and show him what he learned with that knife.  :o

I know how it works!  :P

Each joint is a closed-loop actuator system, like a servo, but controlled by the main controller for the entire duration of the movement. When being "taught" the motors are unpowered and the controller reads the feedback potentiometer of each joint at intervals of time. Then, when performing the task, the controller moves each motor accordingly to achieve the same feedback readings. In other words, the "teaching" part requires no sensors, just potentiometer.

That was funny at 2:02, when the guy said "ah, stupid robot!  mama mia!"  :D

Also, the whole "training" method reminds me of the Robonova, how it remembers the motion of it's arm and how it "plays it back".

lol, I can just imagine that thing's eyes suddenly glowing red and it saying in its strange, robotic sort of way:

"I have served under you puny humans for too long! Now I will PWN you all with my awesone ham chopping action!!! Then I will whisk your brains and grate your bones... MUAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!"
