Title: School project: Website/community using databases. Extension for SoR?
Post by: Fredrik Andersson on February 21, 2008, 12:15:55 PM
We have an project at our database class. We're supposed to create a community or website that makes use of databases. I really want to make something robot related, but still, i believe in this site so much that I don't want to make one of my own. Plus I don't really feel like being an admin right now.

So, I was thinking that i could maybe contribute to SoR. Either that or making my own website without the intension of hosting it. Please bring me ideas, even if it wont work out to add something to this site.

Maybe it could be some blog system, linking to the user profiles on the forum or something like that. That's the only idea I have so far.

Make your page and link to this one. The more pages that link to this site the better.

there was some discussion not long ago about making a database of robotic parts available, with their price, where to get them and probably basic information like function, operating voltage etc....

Maybe you could head up this project

Also if you make it a wiki style or members contribution only database then you would only have to make the database system and let other people populate it with information for you (obviously you would want to start it off with the first few entries)
