Title: Gripper for pick and place robot
Post by: jeeproxy on October 09, 2008, 07:01:59 PM
I am new to this forum. Hello everyone.

I am working on a fairly simple pick and place robot that I am going to design from scratch. The idea is that is picks up a washer and places it on a sensor that measures the washer. Then the robot makes a decision on where to place the washer.

The problem I have is that I plan to purchase a gripper, and the closest thing I have found to what I am looking for is from Lynxmotion. Here is the link to the part. I am designing everything in 3d and this company can't provide me with a drawing. So I would like to know what else is available on the market that is comparable to this gripper.

I would like to have a drawing upfront so I can see if it will work without purchasing the part.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

where? :P

you can find a bunch by searching the forum (http://www.societyofrobots.com/robotforum/index.php?action=search2;params=YWR2YW5jZWR8J3wwfCJ8YnJkfCd8MiwzLDQsNSw2fCJ8c2hvd19jb21wbGV0ZXwnfHwifHN1YmplY3Rfb25seXwnfHwifHNvcnR8J3xyZWxldmFuY2V8Inxzb3J0X2RpcnwnfGRlc2N8InxzZWFyY2h8J3xncmlwcGVy) and google (http://www.google.com/search?q=robot+gripper)

and most importantly:

And although they don't provide a dimensional drawing, you can still find dimensions and specs here:
