Title: Propeller Clock
Post by: spizzak on March 21, 2010, 10:03:48 PM
Hey guys, my friends and I are trying to build a propeller clock (links below to example) but need some help. Our biggest issue currently is how to get power to the electronics on the spinning board and what to spin the board itself with. We think we should have it rotating around 500-1500rpm and we need around 6-7 Volts on the rotating board to power the atmega32 we are using to drive the LEDs with.
Our current idea is to use two motors, one as a driver and one as a generator, but we're no sure what kind of motor to use and how to implement it. Anyway I was hoping you guys could give us some suggestions or perhaps explain how the guy in the link below did it. I can't read the explanation and cant figure it out from the pics alone.

Thanks so much!
